Top 5 Must-Join Online Music Communities to Consider

In my last 2 articles, I introduced you to the benefits of joining an online music community as a musicpreneur and  the 5 do’s and don’ts in order to be a great member of these communities and take the most out of them.
Now, on the practical side, I want to introduce you to 5 Must-Join communities, to consider joining, expanding your network and putting yourself out there. I’ve been a long time member of all the 5 communities, and I have seen real value in them. I have discovered mentors, collaborators and made great friends. They’ve given me tons of accountability and encouragement and I am always fired up when I am capable of helping out other community members. So, here they are – my top 5 choices, and a few words about the ideas behind them directly from their founders.
(NB! I love them all so the order, in which I’ve put them has nothing to do with the value they bring. I love them all and each one carries its own vibrant light to shine, I just have to list them somehow 😉 )

So, if you’ve been into networking and learning, you probably have attended Steve Palfreyman’s Music Launch Summit back in 2016 and 100% had tons of fun, value and action steps to implement in your career. If you haven’t attended, though, you can still dive into the vibe of some of the leading music industry professionals, strategists and independent musicians by joining the Music Launch Hub Mastermind Tribe. This is a place of tremendous support, live sessions educating you about smart strategic approach for your music releases, supporting and celebrating the wins of each and every member. If you have a question, you can post it to the group and enjoy the whole community brainstorming the best answers and solutions to help you out.
  • Here is what Steve has to say about the amazing mastermind tribe:
“This community was formed to fight against the ‘great divide’ in the global music industry. Being an emerging artist (or industry professional) has a whole new meaning today. The possibility for anyone to start and grow their careers on their terms is only increasing. With this, we find new challenges though. Many of us work in isolation. Or we struggle to be taken seriously. Sometimes we waste hours looking for a simple answer to a question. Other times we break the bank trying to fly to a conference where nobody speaks to us and the information on offer isn’t even thinking about our needs. I wanted to create a community where everyone would know they have something to contribute; whether they ask a question or answer one, their input has meaning to a fellow emerging artist or industry pro. I wanted a space where I could feel at home and level up my career, while helping others to do the same. The Music Launch Hub was simply created to be a place online that I always wanted, and I’m so blown away every day that I see so many other people taking this mission further than I ever imagined at the beginning."

  • The Rock Star Collective – the founder of The Rock Star Advocate, Suzanne Paulinski  created this amazing collective, where strategy meets the right mindset. Suz and the members will encourage you to show up for yourself and share your struggles, so that you can get support, through engaging threads, such as the amazing 24-hour challenges, which this blog series was actually inspired by.
The Rock/Star Collective was created to give music-preneurs a safe space to practice better self-care, set better boundaries/structure around their career, and find support and accountability. I wanted to create a community they could join for free in order to have access to resources that would allow them to work smarter, not harder. It's my mission to #redefinethehustle and make self-care a priority in this industry. “– Suzanne Paulinski, Founder of the Rock star advocate and the rock star collective FB community

  • Ladies Rock in the Female Indie Musician Community, hosted by Bree Noble – founder of Women of Substance Radio and Female Musician Academy.
I’ve been following Bree’s work and trainings for a few years now, and being surrounded with amazing thriving ladies, who make a living out of their music careers and uplift each other in the Female Indie Musician Community has been a hyper strong asset for me in order to keep my mind focused on music and not quit, when I wonder if I am good enough, strong enough and even crazy enough to pursue music. Here is what inspired Bree to create this amazing community:
I created the Female Indie Musician Community because I wanted to fill a need I had myself while I was a performing and recording artist. As musicians, we are often "going it alone" and feel isolated because our friends and family don't understand what we are trying to accomplish, which makes it hard for them to support us through our struggles and celebrate our wins. As a female musician, I longed for connection and a place where I could ask advice and get support, especially with the unique challenges we face as women in a male-dominated Music Industry. Once I found a group like this, it made a monumental difference in my career: I started making rapid progress because I was more educated, felt less isolated and knew there was always a place to go when I got stuck. This is why I originally started the Female Musician Academy in June 2015 - a training and group coaching community for female artists. But I wanted to extend some kind of support to those who couldn't afford to join the Academy, so in July 2016 the Female Indie Musician Community was born. We now, as of April 2018, have almost 3,000 members and are growing by 5 - 10 artists daily.”
